1.5 cups cup water
1 tsp salt
4 cups mealie meal
When boiling, pour in the mealie meal, all at once, then stir well to mix (I use the handle of a wooden spoon) – there should be no dry mealie meal left and the mealie meal will form into clumps.
Reduce the heat to lowest setting, then cover with a lid and cook on a low temperature for about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even cooking.
A thin crust will form on the bottom of the pot, that’s meant to happen… but it shouldn’t be burnt
