Iphalishi (Porridge)

Serves 4
3 cups of cold water
1 tsp salt
1 cup maize meal
1 cup full cream milk
To serve:
Full Cream Milk
Softened butter
White Sugar
Place the water and salt into a pot, then bring to a boil.
Mix together maize meal and the milk.
Whisk maize meal mixture into the boiling water.
Cover with a lid then simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
To serve, spoon porridge into bowls, then stir in sugar to taste. Top with some milk and a dollop of butter.
