Beef Keftas with Spicy Chickpeas

 

Serves 4

500g beef mince

1 pkt KNORR Naturally Tasty Beef Tagine

¼ cup sultanas, chopped

4 Tbs chopped parsley

Salt and pepper

12 kebab sticks

4 Tbs olive oil

1 onion, sliced

1 tsp dried chilli flakes

4 fresh tomatoes, chopped

2 tsp sugar

1 cup water

1 tin chickpeas, drained

 

In a bowl, combine the beef mince, Knorr Naturally Tasty Beef Tagine sultanas, half of the parsley, salt and pepper.

Divide into 12 pieced, and then squeeze onto kebab sticks to form keftas.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, then add the keftas and cook until browned on each side and cooked through.

Remove from the pan, set aside and keep them warm while preparing the chickpeas.

In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil, then sauté the onion until softened.

Add the chilli flakes and the remaining Knorr Naturally Tasty Beef tagine and stir to coat the onions.

Add the tomatoes, sugar and water then cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes begin to soften and break down. Stir in the chickpeas and leave to simmer for another 5 minutes.

Season to taste, then stir in the parsley and serve along with the keftas.
